Course description:

This 2 day course looks to answer fundamental marketing questions such as “Why is marketing important?” “What is an opportunity, prospect, suspect?” “How do I build a marketing plan?” “Top marketing tactics?”

Subject Overview:

This practical and interactive 2-day workshop begins by exploring marketing’s significance in the IT sector, its evolution and main objectives. It shows the student how to get started, and discusses role and responsibilities in the marketing team (whether in-house or outsourced). Importantly, the student is exposed to the marketing process from strategic planning through to execution.

The workshop then moves into defining what is a suspect, marketing qualified prospect, and leads. The objective is to prepare the student with the required basic knowledge before building their marketing plan.

The student then learns how to create a marketing plan based on a standard marketing process which enables them to define the strategic objectives and tactical actions. It goes over the need for alignment between the marketing plan, the marketing team and the business objectives. It emphasizes the need to follow and develop each one of the phases and sub-phases of the process in order to successfully reach the milestones. The course discusses the different traditional and digital marketing activities.

The final module dives into the details of various marketing tactics at the disposal of the student, ranging from traditional marketing activities such as direct mailings and telemarketing to search engine optimization and social media. In addition, the module discusses the importance of budgeting correctly.

Participants will leave with a ready-to-implement marketing plan tailored specifically to your size firm, and includes budgets, a 12-month activity planner, how to measure campaign success/ROI and much more.
